Join the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for an exhilarating programme of Classical and Romantic music, directed by French conductor Alexandre Bloch. Opening the concert is Stravinsky’s neo-Classical ‘Dumbarton Oaks’ Concerto for Chamber Orchestra, commissioned in 1937 to celebrate a 30th wedding anniversary. SCO Principal Flute Alison Mitchell is soloist in Ibert’s charming and virtuosic Flute Concerto, evoking the sights and sounds of a bustling Parisian summer evening. Mozart’s enchanting Divertimento in D follows and Bloch closes the concert with a lively rendition of Beethoven’s sparkling First Symphony. Not to be missed!
